Electric cars are up and coming in parts of the country and they are slowly catching on in the province.
Jon Seary, co-founder of Drive Electric NL, says one of the main concerns for people thinking about electric cars is the battery life. He says on a single charge, his Tesla electric car can go about 410 kilometres.
Seary compares the charging routine to that of a cellphone.
He says you don’t need to worry about how far the car can go, you just need to think about where you will charge it.
He says the province is lacking when it comes to one main feature to help the electric car market. Seary says for long distances, drivers need what is called a level three charger and those are everywhere in Canada except NL.
