Some people have been ignoring the construction signs at Quidi Vidi lake and that is causing problems.
The area is being revamped so that the trail around the lake will be an uninterrupted excursion. The Winners Dock will be moved to the west side of the Boathouse and parking arrangements will change.
The Regatta Committee says some people—they do not know whether rowers or pedestrians—accessed areas within the construction zone and caused damage to the poured concrete by walking on it before it was fully set.

On Monday, weather permitting, workers expect to install the new top on the wharf, a project which will result in the closure of the concrete portion of the structure for up to 48 hours. It is expected that the usual number of shells will be available.
There is no firm date for the reopening of the road, but it is close.
President Chris Neary says the other component of the project—the leveling off of the North Bank—is complete. It will be flat instead of the steep slope that used to be there.
Neary says this way, it will be a better experience for vendors and people visiting the Regatta.
