A man convicted of killing a three-year-old boy in Ontario will have a bail hearing tomorrow in St. John’s Provincial Court in connection with an armed home invasion in Kilbride last week.
In the early morning hours of Friday, July 9, police say an armed man and woman gained entry to a home on Bay Bulls Road in Kilbride.
Police say the pair fled on foot, and were arrested a short time after the incident, not far away.
Accused in the home invasion are 39-year-old James Purcell and 29-year-old April Warford.
Both are facing charges of break and enter, two counts of robbery, assault with a weapon, and firearms charges.
In 2011, Purcell pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of his then-girlfriend’s three-year-old son. He was sentenced to 7.5 years in jail for the crime.
His bail hearing in connection with the home invasion is scheduled for 9:30 tomorrow. Warford was released on bail yesterday.
