The grounds around Government House came alive yesterday afternoon.
People of all ages, marching bands, traditional Irish dancers and a range of other local musicians turned out for the annual Government House Garden Party.

Some were there for the first time while others, including Dorothy Parker of the Red Hat Society, have been going for years.
Parker says it’s great fun and she comes every year. She likes seeing all the people and having the chance to dress up in all her best finery and glitz.

There was a long line of people waiting for the chance to meet Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote, and have their picture taken with her.
Luckily, the rain held off and Her Honour didn’t leave the party until every photo request was fulfilled.
