No injuries were reported, however a moose was killed in a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway last night.
Emergency crews responded to the westbound lanes of the highway near Paddys Pond at about 9:45 p.m.
An SUV traveling the road near the former Islander RV location struck and killed the animal, sending it to the shoulder of the road. The SUV came to rest nearly 100 metres away, with its windshield broken and moderate damage to the passenger side.
Neither of the two occupants of the car required transport to hospital. Traffic was slowed in the area as the vehicle and carcass were removed.
