A man whose dream vacation was to go to Newfoundland is soaking up every last second he has in the province, and making many friends along the way.
Preston Morgan and his family are from Fort Worth, Texas. In December 2010, he looked at a map and spotted the island, and wanted to learn more about it. Nine years later, his daughter bought him a plane ticket to St. John’s.
He first learned about the daily lives of Newfoundlanders over Twitter, before he fell in love with the music.
Morgan says Newfoundland is ‘truly blessed’ with some of the greatest music in the world—but he says it’s the people that make it so special.
What an incredible week with @WezieMorgan @morganlrebekah while taking a walk we ran into one of my favorite performers @alanthomasdoyle #livingmybestlife #livingthedream pic.twitter.com/YIIitReunO

He says the people are “truly real,” decent and kind. It’s more than a Canadian province, as the harsh elements of nature make it difficult to prosper or survive.
The warmth of the community spirit, he says, is what made it his dream vacation.
@gpmorgan3 and @morganlrebekah were interviewed on VOCM Sunday Drive with @DarrellPowerNL About how Preston became enamoured with Newfoundland through Twitter. After 10 years of hearing about it, Rebekah bought him a ticket so he could finally experience it first hand. pic.twitter.com/s5h5TO2lxb

Morgan says he loves the island, and she’s loved him back.
The family encourages everyone and anyone who may recognize them to stop and chat, as they’d love to meet as many Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as possible before heading back home on Tuesday.
We had such an awesome time with Wanda at Irene's. We are now proud owners of some of her dad's artwork and a Merby's calendar! #stjohnsnewfoundland pic.twitter.com/AaxJeCU9M1
