The capital city region had its first taste of summer heat over the weekend.
Saturday was the first 25-degree day of the summer in St. John’s – the latest date in the calendar year on record at St. John’s International.
Temperatures hit the mid-twenties pretty much all across the island on Saturday, and it was the warmest day in St. John’s since August 26th of last year.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace meteorologistBrian Walsh says it was the latest date on record for St. John’s to get its first 25-degree celsius day.
The previous record was July 25, 1992. Records have been kept since 1942.
