The enjoyment of a summer’s day was shattered, Tuesday afternoon, after a car smashed into an outside deck, sending several people to hospital.

The accident occurred on Goodridge Street in the centre city area of the capital city.

A spokesperson from the St. John’s Regional Fire Department says an unoccupied vehicle crashed into an outside deck, striking several people who were outside at the time.

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
