More information is emerging from that data breach at Capital One. People in Newfoundland and Labrador are among those affected.
The data hack is affecting some six-million Canadians with credit cards through Costco and Hudson’s Bay Company.
Costco Canada said senior management has been in constant contact with Capital One from the moment they were told about the data breach. Costco has one massive outlet in NL, located at Galway in St. john’s.
HBC did not respond to a request for comment.
David Masson from the cybersecurity firm Darktrace says the compromise is one of the biggest-ever breaches to impact Canadians.
