A pod of orcas, swimming the waters of Conception Bay, has been caught on video just outside Salmon Cove and Perry’s Cove.

Videos of the animals posted to Facebook have gathered thousands of views.

Jake and Bonnie Parsons posted video of the curious killer whales playing around their boat at sunset this week.

The tall dorsal fins and iconic black and white markings of the orcas can be clearly seen skimming just below the water’s surface, and flanking their boat on both sides.

Video of the close encounter has drawn hundreds of comments from whale watchers and nature lovers alike.
