The driver of an SUV is lucky to have escaped serious injury after a single-vehicle crash on Pitts Memorial Drive overnight.
Emergency crews were called to the highway shortly after 12:30 am. The driver of a Mitsubishi RVR, traveling eastbound, lost control and went into the median. The vehicle then rolled in the oncoming lanes of traffic before coming to a rest on its roof roughly 75 metres from where it first left the road.
The male driver, who was the lone occupant of the car, was assessed by Eastern Health paramedics at the scene but did not require immediate transport to hospital. Damage to the vehicle was extensive.
