Heavy thunderstorms rocked the Bonavista North area Wednesday night. But that didn’t stop over 150 people from showing up for Tina Randell’s comedy show at the Indian Bay Lions Club.
The club was struck by lightning before the show started which was a frightening scenario for the performer and the audience.
She says it was really scary with the fire alarm going off and people saying that they could see sparks coming through around a metal door. She says they were all contained in the one area and that door was their exit, so it was a frightening situation.
The community came together and the show was moved to the Green Acres Lounge one town over in Wareham.
She says the community moved the chairs in and everyone was waiting for about 15 minutes for the show to start. She says the show started with a bang and ended with a band because the audience was absolutely fantastic says Randell.
Randell says that she did find out from Newfoundland Light and Power that the lightning strike didn’t do any damage to the Lions Club
