Hearing loss can have wide-ranging impacts and a local researcher is looking at ways that group sessions can help.
Anne Griffin is an audiologist and research lab associate with Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine . She works in the hearing division of the Genomic-Based Research and Development Centre for Health.
Griffin says hearing loss can have a profound impact on all aspects of a person’s life, affecting relationships and daily activities.
She says group sessions can help to address issues brought forward by people who have experienced hearing loss.
She says they’re trying to offer group workshops to allow people to learn together and come away with goals on how best to live with hearing loss.
Sessions are planned in Grand Falls-Windsor and Corner Brook.
