Stephenville RCMP are investigating after a man allegedly attempted to lure a young woman into his vehicle.

The incident happened on July 31.

Police say a man approached a young woman on Hillview Avenue in the west coast town and asked that she get into his car, she refused.

Police attempted to locate the suspect vehicle without any luck.

The man is described as being in his forties with a bald head. His vehicle is described as a blue car, believed to be a Honda, with stickers on the front windshield.

The RCMP are reminding the public to never accept a ride from a stranger.
