Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel out of Hollywood says he’s running for the Mayor of Dildo, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Kimmel first mentioned the town of Dildo on his show last week, bringing much attention to the province and community – and tons of attention online.

Last night, Kimmel went live on his show to the town and spoke with some of the locals, including Local Service District Committee Member Andrew Pretty.

Kimmel told Pretty he was officially announcing his candidacy for mayor, and asked if he had a shot at it – but Pretty told the talk show host he’d first have to come to Newfoundland and get Screeched In.

Kimmel also had local resident Jon Reid on his show. Reid sang a song he wrote about the community.

The Town of Dildo is keeping up with Kimmel.

Local Service District Committee Member Andrew Pretty says at 5:30 this evening, they will unveil a sign at their local park, similar to one Kimmel erected in Hollywood.

During his segment with the community last night, he showcased a sign on the Hollywood Boulevard, showing the direction and distance to Dildo.

Pretty says the sign will be erected at the Bill Pretty Memorial Playground.
