Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spent his time at the Royal St. John’s Regatta smiling and taking countless selfies with many in the swarming crowd, but not without some jeers and questions.
The Prime Minister was greeted with mostly smiles, and handshakes with the vast majority excited to see him in attendance.
But, one regatta-goer took the opportunity to ask Trudeau about Muskrat Falls.
The man asked what Trudeau and the federal government would do about Muskrat Falls. Trudeau responded by saying they would continue to work with Premier Dwight Ball to “fix the mess the Conservatives left”.
Another man consistently booed the Prime Minister as he made his way through the crowd. Trudeau took it all in stride.
Trudeau responded by saying “good to see you” and mentioned “democracy would be boring if it was unanimous.”
After about an hour, Trudeau made it to the timing tower where he gave the “Are You Ready” calls before the final race before lunch, before coming back to the winner’s circle to present a winning team with medals and a trophy.
