The east end of St. John’s comes alive tonight with the universal language of music.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival kicks off with the opening ceremonies at 6:30 and continues until about midnight. VOCM’s own Greg Smith is the MC.

Things start up tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. with the main stage firing up 1:00 and run until midnight. The same schedule is in effect on Sunday.
The weather forecast looks good with temperatures in the mid twenties.
