The first year of craft beer at the Royal St. John’s Regatta is being hailed a huge success.

Quidi Vidi Brewery ran the beer tent this year after the Kinsmen pulled out, and invited other craft breweries from the province to join in.

You could hear the music and fun being had by all from all corners of the Lake.

Marketing and Sales Director at Quidi Vidi Brewery, Justin Fong says they didn’t quite get as much beer as they wanted in some brands. They had beer from Landwash Brewery, Port Rexton and the Newfoundland Cidery.

He says next year, they look to build on this years success.

Fong says they heard the tent had a festival or concert vibe to it, and everyone had a good time, something that was nice to hear.

He says next year they look to improve on the selection of beer, up from the ten or eleven they had on Wednesday.
