The Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is trying to help get the sale of the Marystown Shipyard “out of limbo.”
Businessman Paul Antle is hoping to develop the former shipyard property into an aquaculture service hub known as Marbase.
To help expedite the process, the chamber has extended an open invitation to all parties to meet with them to try to reach a deal.
John Baker, Board Chair and President of the Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, says everyone is eager to see the deal done. He says the Chamber felt it was time for someone outside of the key players in the deal to step in and try to bring an end to the situation.
Baker says they hope to get all interested parties together sometime in September.
