The town of Hermitage-Sandyville says the RCMP may soon be putting their foot down on illegal ATV riding in the community.
In a post to the town’s Facebook page, they say they have received numerous reports of underage riders speeding down the roadways, as well as adult riders who are speeding along the roadways and not wearing helmets.
The town says they have been advised by area RCMP that if the illegal activity does not stop, they will be making a request to the province to have the town’s ATV bylaw revoked.
The post goes on to say that underage riders who are caught will have the vehicle seized, and the parents of the rider will be charged.
The town is asking all residents to obey the rules so the bylaw can be kept.
