Production has resumed on the Hibernia platform nearly a month after an oil spill forced a shut down in the offshore.
Some 12,000 litres of oil spilled into the ocean following a mishap on July 17.
Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd. says there was a discharge of oil and water from a storage cell on the platform—measures have been taken to resolve the initial problem leading to the release.
A number of birds were affected by the spill. A thorough inspection has since been conducted and production has resumed.
