A 28-year-old St. John’s man been charged for allegedly trying to inappropriately touch women on a walking trail in the capital city yesterday.
Stephen Hopkins of Viking Road in St. John’s was brought into court this morning and charged with two counts of assault and breaching court orders.
Reports came in to the RNC early yesterday afternoon after incidents along the Long Pond trail.

Hopkins was previously acquitted in connection with a stabbing on Frecker Drive in St. John’s back in 2013.
The Crown opposed his release this morning, and Hopkins consented to remand until his next court date.
He is due back in court August 21 to answer to the charges.
