A ground-breaking took place today in Corner Brook at the site of the region’s new acute care hospital.
Excavation work is scheduled to begin early next month and pouring of the concrete is expected by early October.
The provincial government says a job fair and employment website for provincial residents looking for work on construction will be hosted by the Corner Brook Health Partnership in September.
The province says the new seven-storey, 600,000 square foot facility will include 164 beds and the same services currently provided at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
