One person was injured following a collision in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s last evening.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Portugal Cove Road and Old Broad Cove Road at about 7:40 p.m. after the rider of an eastbound motorcycle struck an SUV that was turning onto Old Broad Cove Road.
The male rider of the bike was taken to hospital with an apparent leg injury. The driver of the SUV was unharmed. Glare from the setting sun may have been a contributing factor into the collision.
Traffic in the area was blocked as crews attended the scene. Damage to both the motorcycle and SUV was moderate.
