St. John’s Status of Women’s Council, Community Groups Reaching Out Following Death of Woman in CBS
The St. John’s Status of Women’s Council are reaching out to those impacted by the death.
Heather Jarvis is a program coordinator with the Women’s Council. While they are still unsure of the circumstances surrounding the death, she hopes the woman was loved, that she was safe, and that this was not an act of violence.
Jarvis says community groups are now checking in with each other just to see how everyone is doing, and to ensure that the people they serve are being checked in with, too.
Jarvis says in these situations, there is always the fear of, “What if?” What could have happened? Who is she? How is the family?
She says when those answers are not known, it’s hard to know how they can help. Jarvis says that’s why they check in and reach out.
