Two people were sent to hospital after a moose-vehicle accident forced the closure of the Burin Peninsula Highway last night for over four hours.
It happened just before 9:00 p.m. near the Terrenceville intersection, just north of Marystown.
A single vehicle collided with a moose, rolling over, trapping two occupants inside. Police, paramedics and fire crews responded, freeing the two people from the vehicle.
Both were sent to the Burin Peninsula Health Center, one with serious injuries.
