From sexually explicit come-ons to threats of kidnapping, a mother is sick and tired of the comments her teen daughter gets from customers at her workplace.

Emmie Gidge’s daughter Jenna works as a cashier at a grocery store in Mount Pearl and says her daughter comes home almost daily with stories of inappropriate comments from older men. She took to Facebook to vent her disgust.

Jenna Gidge, who is eighteen, says she has been experiencing many inappropriate and uncomfortable comments. She says a man came in one day and told her he wanted to “kidnap me from my job, take me to his house, and make me wear only cat ears and whiskers while tied up.”

Jenna says the remarks from men happen daily to her and her coworkers and it’s not okay.

She says no one at her work enjoys or wants the comments. The remarks make all the girls feel uncomfortable and bad about themselves and they want it to stop.

Jenna’s mother Emmie says she has contacted HR and the company is taking the issue very seriously, with people fired and banned. She says the company is going to be having meetings to teach the employees how to handle this type of situation for when it happens again.
