A lead-footed driver found themselves in a heap of trouble this week, after police caught them speeding at nearly twice the limit.
On Wednesday, Burin Peninsula RCMP hit the highway following reports of someone driving erratically between St. Lawrence and Marystown.
A patrol vehicle located the driver near Red Harbour, and clocked them at 178 km/h in the 90 zone.
As result, the 36-year-old driver was charged for exceeding the speed limit by more than 80 km/h.
His licence was suspended, and vehicle impounded.
