Justice Minister Andrew Parsons is accusing Opposition Leader Ches Crosbie of slinging mud on the matter of wetland capping at Muskrat Falls.
Crosbie this week called on the Auditor General to investigate what’s being termed a “miscommunication” that allowed the deadline for wetland capping at Muskrat Falls to pass before flooding of the reservoir got underway.
Parsons says he wasn’t aware of that situation until it all started coming out last month.
He references a letter he saw last month that was sent by Nalcor to the department last July. It mentions the work is planned for completion by December 1st 2018, but it doesn’t appear to be a deadline.
As for why Parsons didn’t appear at the Muskrat Falls inquiry, he says he would have been happy to do so, had he been asked.
