Get your jackets out, it’s going to be a chilly one across Newfoundland tonight.
The long days of summer are coming to a close, and so are the warmer nighttime temperatures.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace Meteorologist, Brian Walsh, says tonight will be a very cool one all across the island portion of the province.
Clear skies will allow temperatures to fall to the single digits.
A frost advisory has been issued for low-lying areas of central and western Newfoundland. Temperatures will likely stay about freezing, but Walsh says by only a couple degrees.
With that also comes shorter days, as Walsh says sunsets in St. John’s are now before 8:00 p.m. and won’t get back to that time for 8 months.
It will cut back again to 7:00 p.m. on September 21st.
