Newfoundland and Labrador was Kim Hix’s favourite place on the planet so 38 of her friends and family gathered in St. John’s to remember her.

Hix, who is from Chicago, died tragically after falling from a Cape Spear cliff on August 25, 2018. She was 53.

One of her friends, Kelly MacRury, helped plan celebrations over the weekend. She says, the group took a boat trip to Cape Spear via Quidi Vidi Charters to be able to spread Kim’s ashes.

MacRury says Kim always said if anything were to happen to her, she wanted them spread at Cape Spear.

MacRury says the people of Newfoundland and Labrador showed so much respect for them during the weekend. She says after the entire weekend of celebrating Kim’s life, the group really understands why Kim enjoyed the province so much.
