The first layer of asphalt for the Topsail Road/McNamara roundabout goes down today.

The Town of Paradise says in order to have the first layer of paving finished in one day, work will begin at 7:00 a.m. and continue into the evening until it is completed.

The work will impact traffic as it will be delayed throughout the day, including during the morning and evening commutes.

The town says it is doing it this way because of impending weather later in the week and school starting next week.

Construction of the roundabout is on schedule and will be completed by mid-fall.
