The RCMP would love nothing more than to have a tragedy-free weekend. They are asking drivers to be patient and safe during one of the busiest weekends on the province’s roads.

RCMP Corporal Jolene Garland says expect to see more police presence. She says they have a strong team of members that will be out and about on the highways.

They have additional resources for this particular weekend, and the public should expect to see traffic checkpoints throughout the province.

Corporal Garland says to help avoid some delays, drivers should plan their trip and check out if there are any potential delays.
