A dramatic situation unfolded high upon a rooftop downtown this morning.

Employees flooding the downtown area were greeted with sirens and rescue crews. Firefighters and police blocked off Water Street at McBride’s Hill when a man was seen to be in a state of distress on the roof of the Bank of Montreal building.
The man climbed onto a building down the road and walked along the tops of other buildings on Water Street until he got to the Bank of Montreal.
The danger passed as paramedics and mental health professionals were able to reach him.

The man was talked down safely. Emergency crews have left the area and traffic is flowing once again.
