New programs at the College of the North Atlantic have been developed, and according to the college, they are filling a gap in Newfoundland and Labrador’s labour market.
Industry demands, trends in the labour market and expectations from today’s students are all things, College of the North Atlantic’s President and CEO, Bruce Hollett says have shaped seven new programs spread across five campuses.
Agricultural technician two year program will be offered through the Corner Brook campus focusing on agriculture business development, promotion and risk management.
Geological Technician one year certificate will be offered at the Grand Falls Windsor campus to develop skills in data collection, field sample collection, analysis and interpretation.
Cultural Culinary Art and Tourism will be offered in Bonavista. A two year program that will connect culture and food.
A 22 week retail meat cutter program is slated for the Carbonear Campus to provide hands on experience with meat cutting and safety.
Tourism and hospitality services, Art and Design Essentials and Atlantic Trades Business Seal will all be offered through online learning .
