Kids are heading back to school and government is urging drivers to keep safety in mind at all times.
Drivers must obey posted speed limits in school zones. Failure to do so, could result in your vehicle being impounded and fines ranging between $400 and $1,800.
Minister Brian Warr says, with over 42,000 students on the province’s school buses daily we need to keep safety at the top of our minds.
Fines for failing to do so range from $500 to $1,200.
They also want to remind drivers that one metre of space must be left between your vehicle and cyclists or pedestrians.
And lastly, using a mobile phone or any other hand-held device while driving is illegal and violators will pay the price.
