Residents of Murphy’s Personal Care home in Portugal Cove-St. Phillips have been displaced by fire.
Crews were called to the area just before 12:30 this morning to reports of smoke in the building.
A small fire near an electrical panel was discovered in the basement and was quickly extinguished.
Portugal Cove-St. Phillips Fire Co-Chief Fred Hollett says due to damage to some wiring in the facility, the owner was advised to find alternate arrangements for residents.
The RNC are currently looking into the cause of the fire.
