A champion of the history and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador will be laid to rest today.
Larry Dohey, archivist at The Rooms and co-host of Archival Moments on VOCM passed away last Wednesday at the age of 59.
His funeral mass will take place at the Basilica, a special place for Dohey as he spent many years working with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese in Newfoundland. Dohey’s funeral is set for 1:00 p.m..
Meanwhile, The Rooms will remain closed until 2:00 this afternoon out of respect for Dohey.
The facility will open after the funeral mass for a reception to be hosted by Dohey’s family to celebrate his life and contribution to the province.
The reception will run until 5:00 p.m.. All are welcome.
