Eastern Health is not saying much about how masked bandits could get into the Health Sciences and emerge with a very heavy ATM.

The incident happened last Wednesday at about 5:00 in the morning. Thieves got away with an ATM from the main area of the hospital.

How that could happen in a building which never sleeps baffles many. Two people have been arrested by the RNC and a third is expected to be charged.

When asked about its policies on overnight security, Eastern Health would say only that it does not publicly disclose details of security procedures employed at their facilities in order to protect the integrity of those procedures.

Each Eastern Health facility has its own security procedures which are established based on the operational and security requirements of the facility. Daily locking and unlocking schedules are included in those security procedures.
