Post Foods is looking for genuinely good Canadians, and a teacher from Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s is on their short list.

Paula Courage is currently third in the country in the Search for Goodness, a contest that will give $10,000 toward the community work of an outstanding Canadian.

Courage, a teacher at Beachy Cove Elementary, promotes environmental awareness in school with outreach and recycling programs for students.

She says if she wins, she’s putting the cash straight back into the environmental programs at the school. Courage would like to see a greenhouse and school-wide composting and gardening.
