A west coast couple were enjoying a post honeymoon feed of KFC on Friday when they received the best wedding gift of all – a call from KFC offering them a year of free chicken.

Paul and Cathy Parsons of Corner Brook are well-known for their love for KFC. In fact the couple love the famous chicken so much their wedding cake topper included a bucket of chicken.

Paul says their love of Kentucky Fried Chicken is common knowledge in their community. He says when the KFC temporarily closed down a few years ago, their friends in Corner Brook offered the couple condolences.

Word of their special wedding cake, shared on social media reached KFC corporate offices. Cathy says they had just sat down to eat KFC for supper Friday when they received the message.

Paul adds they had just came home from a mini honeymoon and were not in the mood to cook. It was then they were reached by the regional manager of marketing.

A year of free chicken adds up to be about a bucket a month, but Cathy and Paul say they may still purchase a couple of meals besides that.
