Hurricane Dorian is making its way up the coast and it will have an impact on parts of the province this weekend.
Marine Atlantic expects to see significant disruptions in the Gulf ferries as high winds from Dorian will likely ground the boats for a significant period of time.
The exact pattern of Dorian is unknown at this time but Marine Atlantic is urging people who are booked on the ferries to contact them.
Tropical Cyclone Advisory in Effect
Dorian is currently a Category Two system, which is expected to move up along the Eastern Seaboard and into Atlantic Canada over the weekend.
A Tropical Cyclone advisory is in effect for the entire island, as Environment Canada says most regions will experience some tropical storm force winds. Areas south of the forecast track could see hurricane force winds. It cautions that power outages and damage are also possible.
Environment Canada says rainfall will be significant for some areas as well—but most regions will likely experience some rain.
