A locally developed video game is making a big splash in Japan.
Project Winter is a game from Other Ocean Interactive in which players need to work together to survive harsh conditions on a frozen mountainside. The twist is that one of the players is a traitor who wants the others to fail.
Other Ocean Head of Operations Deirdre Ayre told the VOCM Lunch Bunch with Andrew Hawthorn that the game is one of the best successes they’ve had, selling up to thousands of copies a day.
The game has proved particularly popular in Japan, and as such they’re taking it on the road to the Tokyo Games Expo.
Ayre says it’s an information gathering trip to see what the market is into and make sure they want to continue playing.
Project Winter is available to download on the Steam now.
