Campus is abuzz today as new and returning students head back to class for the first day of the semester at Memorial University.

Liam O’Neill, the Student Union’s Director of External Affairs, says it’s a great time to be on campus, but it can be intimidating for new students.

He says the best thing to do is get involved.

The best advice is to make one to friend. The social situation changes a lot between high school and post secondary, and Liam says you should embrace it and branch out.

For a quick start, he says MUN has dozens of student groups, from people who do activities to folks that just meet and watch movies, so there are a lot of opportunities to meet people.
