The C-NLOPB has confirmed a worker has been injured following an incident Friday on the Transocean Barents—operated by Suncor.
Suncor says the incident happened around 11:00a.m. yesterday
There is no immediate word on the exact nature of the incident or the extent of injuries suffered.
The offshore regulator says the worker was airlifted to hospital.
This has been a rough year in the offshore with three spills since November and at least two “near-miss” incidents.
That’s led to calls for an independent regulator to monitor environmental and safety issues in the province’s offshore.
The C-NLOPB has been notified of an incident earlier today on the Transocean Barents MODU that resulted in an injured worker.
The worker was subsequently transferred onshore by helicopter. A medical assessment is ongoing.
