Apple trees belonging to a Bay St. George couple were harvested two or three weeks early overnight due to the high winds from post tropical storm, Dorian.
Jocelyn Butt says her two apple trees are almost completely empty and there are dozens of apples resting in the grass below them. Her husband was gathering them all morning.
She says they have never seen anything like it in the ten years they have had the trees.
The apples are not fully ripe but she says she can salvage them. Butt says she is about to have a couple of busy days in the kitchen.
She says she is probably going to make apple sauce for the next couple of days and freeze what she can.
