The Mayor of St. John’s says there has been a significant and rapid shift among of offshore operators toward other sources of energy.
Danny Breen was among the delegates to the World Energy Cities Partnership in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Wind power, hydrogen and electrification is all being looked at, as well as data and information management.
Breen says it’s all part of fact-finding as the city prepares its economic plan, which should be released by the end of the year.
He says it’s vital that they understand the industry and ensure that their plan reflect that.
