Newfoundland and Labrador has been given a D minus tying for dead last in the country in a report card on provincial alcohol policies in the service industry.
The Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association surveyed various jurisdictions across the country and found Newfoundland and Labrador ranked very low.
Vice-President for Atlantic Canada with the association, Luc Erjavec says laws and regulations have not changed despite the fact that the industry has changed significantly.
He says there have not been any substantive changes to liquor laws and regulations in decades.
Since then, the industry had changed significantly with the emergence of things like craft breweries, Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats.
