Moose season starts September 21st for those hoping to get a the big animal in Terra Nova National Park.

Each year, the park opens up to big game hunting to help keep the moose population in check and protect new forest growth.

The management program began in 2011 and is managed in co-operation with the provincial government’s Wildlife Division under the big game licensing system.

Some hiking trails will be affected during the hunt. Visitors are asked to pay attention to signage on park trails.
