A Labrador MHA is expressing disappointment following recent events involving a fellow MHA, and friend.
Lela Evans, the PC MHA for Torngat Mountains, says it is up to the people who elected Lake Melville MHA Perry Trimper to decide if he should stay on as their elected official.
Trimper resigned from cabinet just one week after being appointed as Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment. He remains in caucus and is staying on as MHA.
Evans says to be an MHA you need to have the trust and the confidence of your constituents.
She says she never heard him say anything like what was heard on the recording released last week
Evans says one thing she can say about Perry Trimper is that he is been very up front and owned up to the misdeed immediately.
As for the unnamed woman involved in the conversation with Trimper, Evans says her comments were very disappointing as well.
She believes Trimper had the opportunity to correct the comments made by the woman.
